Thrilled to announce that Claire from the RECONNECTED project won the Best Poster Award at ESRII 2025
When innovators, researchers, clinicians, and policymakers come together, new possibilities emerge for advancing mental health in a rapidly changing world. This spirit was at the heart of the 8th European Society for Research on Internet Interventions (ESRII) Conference — Resilience Through Innovation — held at Vilnius University from October 3–5, 2025.
The conference gathered a diverse community exploring how digital tools can strengthen mental resilience and make mental health care more accessible, scalable, and inclusive worldwide. (esrii2025.org)
The Poster Prize
At ESRII 2025, the RECONNECTED Project was represented by Claire van Genugten, who played a leading role in drafting the generic study protocol for our upcoming randomized factorial trial. Claire also presented the poster at the conference and we are thrilled to share that her excellent work was recognized with the ESRII 2025 Best Poster Award!

The poster outlined the trial’s generic protocol, including design principles, outcome measures, objectives, and adaptation strategies for diverse vulnerable populations across Europe.

Our aim with this study is to:
- The primary objective of the trials is to evaluate whether personalised micro-interventions and social prescribing improve wellbeing beyond the effects of mental health literacy alone. This will be investigated through nine trials conducted across Europe
- Develop evidence-based, digital tools that enhance mental health literacy, psychological resilience, and social participation.
- Co-create and adapt these tools with local communities, ensuring cultural and contextual relevance.
Claire’s award-winning poster captured this complexity, offering a clear and replicable framework for large-scale, inclusive digital mental health trials.
The ESRII community’s commitment to scientific rigor, scalability, and equitable access strongly resonates with RECONNECTED’s vision. Presenting at ESRII 2025 allow us to:
- Gather valuable feedback to refine our protocol before implementation.
- Engage with peers working on similar digital health innovations.
- Highlight RECONNECTED’s contribution to resilience-building in an era of social and environmental challenges.
Stay tuned as we move from protocol to practice, testing how digital innovation can truly reconnect and strengthen mental health resilience across Europe.
